A WEEKLY LOOK AT NCAA-F TITLE CHASERS

Mr. East
Mr. East

There are a vast array of handicapping styles, and some adhere to part of them, but I adhere to all of them. I utilize countless systems I have developed over the years, along with emotional, situational, and motivational factors. The one thing I have been able to do with tremendous accuracy is make my own pointspreads. I make them before the next day's game, so I am not influenced by what happened in one game. I am able to spot line value, and exploit it with success. The one thing I don't do is waste selections, for the sake of having one. The only games I will ever put out, are those that I have handicapped countless different ways, and are deemed to create a high likelihood of beating the pointspread. The fact you read this, is its own compliment, and I know you have many choices. Thanks for allowing me to show you a winning approach. I'd be glad to assist you in anyway I can, and look forward to showing you my commitment, and dedication, for something I not only do for a li ving, but with passion, and success! Best wishes on a profitable year in the world of sports!

We have now completed five weeks of play in NCAA Football, and the perfect teams are down from 26 a week ago to 18 this week. The National Championship game which was supposed to go through Florida, USC, Georgia, or Ohio St., now looks like it will be determined elsewhere, as all 4 have suffered a loss. There are now just 13 BCS schools left unblemished, and still 5 Cinderella hopefuls undefeated from non-BCS schools. The ACC and PAC-10 are now void of an unbeaten team, while the BIG-12 remains the top conference with 4 teams yet to fall from the ranks of the unbeaten. Here is a look at the week ahead: La Tech @ Boise St (3-0) Should be an easy one for Boise St. on the smurf turf Pittsburgh @ S Florida (5-0) Judging from Pitts lackluster performance at Syracuse, this one should not be trouble for S. Florida. Oregon St. @ Utah (5-0) This looked like a walk in the park for Utah, but after Oregon St. dismantled USC, and looking like the better team in the process, can they pull the surprise again, or did they leave it all on the field vs the Trojans? I think they will be flat as a pancake this week. BYU (4-0) @ Utah St. If BYU trips up here, there should be an investigation. Uconn (5-0) @ NC Tricky spot for the Huskies, especially losing their QB last week, but Frazier did get comfortable as the game went on vs Louisville. This one could be interesting. Penn St. (5-0) @ Purdue Penn St. finally go some resistance vs Illinois, and Purdue will come ready to play, but doubt they have enough to pull the upset. Kentucky (4-0) @ Alabama (5-0) One team will disappear from this list next week. The Mildcats, have become Wildcats the last 2 years, but unless Bama has a hangover off their big win between the hedges, this one should be no contest. Oklahoma (4-0) @ Baylor Baylor a vastly improved team, with a dangerous QB, but the Sooners have to be the odds on favorite to be #1 when the curtain falls, but is that a good thing this year? Texas Tech (4-0) @ Kansas St. Tech finally has a defense to go with explosive offense, and Kansas St. has a shot here, as they can put some points up as well. Mizzouri (4-0) @ Nebraska This could be one of the highest scoring games of the year, after punchless V Tech hangs a 35 on the Husker's in their own backyard, but if that's the case how does Missouri not get 60 here? Texas A&M @ Oklahoma St. (4-0) A&M has nothing, and almost dropped one at home to an Army team averaging 6.5ppg. Enough said. Auburn @ Vanderbilt (4-0) Not sure if anyone could have seen this coming, as host Dores, are the undefeated team coming into this one. If any team is on the ropes this week to drop their first, it will be Vandy. Texas (4-0) @ Colorado Horns been hooking all comers, may be stiffest test yet, on the road vs Buffs. Would think the Horns get past this one, but the way things have gone this year, stay tuned! Ball St. (5-0) @ Toledo Cardinals are the biggest surprise to still be in this group, and will have their work cut out for them vs Hens, who have not let many home games get away. Could be more challenging than it looks. Rice @ Tulsa (4-0) Many calling Tulsa the Hawaii of '08, and don't see any reason that chatter won't continue for another week BYE WEEKS: Northwestern 5-0 LSU 4-0 Last week I predicted 20 to return to this column, but just 18 survived, this week I project there will be 14 here next week, as the list shrinks. Have a great week East Get my Sun Belt Game of the Month a huge power play!!!!
